Bats and Bugs!

small brown bat sitting on branch (isolated)

Did you know that bats can eat their body weight in insects every night? Or that they can detect and avoid an object the width of a strand of hair in complete darkness? How do they do it? And why does it matter to us?

In this program we will work with Wildlife Biologist Dr. Brooke Maslo on her exciting research on identifying the echolocation calls of bats.  In addition, we will work with Noel Hahn and John Cambridge, graduate students in the department of Entomology to explore current search on everybody’s favorite household insect…..the stink bug.

Download our registration and permission form today.  We must have both forms by September 21, 2013 to consider your child registered for the program.
